Job summary

Boot Barn is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with the Store Manager in leading daily store operations, driving sales, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will coach team members, manage schedules, and oversee training while maintaining merchandising standards and store processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with district and store support partners, execution of local community initiatives, and leadership that aligns with Boot Barn values.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and/or 2 to 4 years of experience in retail store management.
• Experience managing direct reports and leading teams in a selling environment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts to meet business needs including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Flexibility with scheduling and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
• Up to 15% travel to support local stores, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead partners to foster a service & selling culture and exceed overall expectations to build long-standing customer relationships.
• Review goals with partners, providing coaching, feedback, and recognition; be present on the sales floor during peak hours.
• Assist with partner training plans to improve store performance in operations and merchandising; develop team members for their career goals.
• Collaborate with Store Manager on schedules, hiring, training, and communicating with District/Region/SC Partners.
• Assess and communicate localized customer needs to Store Manager.
• Plan and execute volume-driving events with outreach to the local community/market.
• Lead and coach associates in customer engagement through the Loyalty Programs and achieve goals.
• Ensure stock levels, merchandising presentations, and signing meet customer needs and guidelines.
• Manage receipts, markdowns, and inventory shrink plans with the store team.
• Maintain knowledge across product categories and train partners accordingly.
• Complete opening/closing procedures and comply with Time and Attendance policy.
• Adhere to laws and company policies; uphold professionalism and teamwork.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.
