Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional in Michigan to direct daily operations, mentor staff, and drive customer service and sales while upholding Meijer standards.

You will oversee staffing, hiring, and development, promote career paths, resolve conflicts, and ensure training across departments. This role requires hands-on leadership during peak hours and a commitment to operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas; customer service experience helpful.
• Strong communication to provide clear direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze information.
• Ability to mentor team members and lead safety practices.
• Completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career paths and development for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge decisions.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.
• Model exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Mentor staff to exceed service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and required training completed.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
