Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a store leadership role to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service and sales, and uphold company standards.

The position emphasizes staffing, development, disciplinary processes, and P&L responsibility, with a focus on safety, training, and consistent attendance in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store departments such as meat, bakery, produce and deli.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to support decisions.
• Proven ability to mentor team members and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to teams and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote succession planning with clear career paths and development.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and advise on discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and uphold Meijer values.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Maintain thorough training across all team members and roles.
• Spend most of the time in-store engaging with customers and staff.
• Promote a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
