Job summary

Meijer Inc. in New Albany, IN is seeking an experienced store leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor team members, shape staffing, and ensure exceptional customer service while achieving sales and inventory goals.

Responsibilities include hiring decisions, enforcing Meijer standards, managing P&L, and driving safe, efficient store operations. Prior retail management and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensures the team is thoroughly trained and fully cross-trained.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promotes a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
