Job summary

Meijer is hiring at our New Albany location to lead day-to-day store operations, coach a diverse team, and drive customer service and sales performance. You will mentor staff, manage staffing, and ensure adherence to company standards while focusing on prime shopping hours and product presentation.

The role emphasizes coaching, safety, and process improvement with opportunities for career growth within a family-owned, values-driven retailer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear and precise direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to inform decisions; teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members in all areas including hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions; makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team is trained in all job aspects and has completed required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Maintain consistent attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
