Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional to oversee daily operations and guide a team across departments, ensuring strong customer service and sales performance. The role emphasizes coaching, staffing decisions, and adherence to safety and company standards.

As a leadership position, you will mentor hourly and supervisory staff, manage training, and drive initiatives that promote a positive store image while meeting P&L goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Ability to communicate directions clearly to the team.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Proven ability to lead a team that works safely at all times.
• Ability to mentor team members across roles.
• Completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members and manage promotion decisions.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Apply disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Be responsible for P&L, sales and shrink targets.
• Model fast, friendly, and excellent customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team settings.
• Ensure thorough training of team members across roles.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and staff.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain Meijer standards.
