Job summary

Family Dollar in Yorktown, Texas seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist in merchandising, opening/closing duties, and ensuring policy compliance while helping to train and supervise Store Associates.

The role emphasizes safety, inventory control, and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. Prior retail leadership experience is preferred; the position is part-time to full-time depending on need.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred and demonstrates basic literacy.
• Experience in store management in retail, grocery, or drugstore environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform repeated walking and standing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for store aesthetics and effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, bathrooms, floors, and common areas.
