Job summary

Family Dollar Stores Of Texas LLC in Arlington, TX seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with opening/closing, merchandise movement from delivery to floor, and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills; you will assist with scheduling, payroll tasks, inventory, and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical store duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash handling).
• Ensure store areas are clean, well-stocked, and secure assets.
• Adhere to safety policies and supervise/train store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
