Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced retail leader to plan, direct and supervise daily store operations in a dynamic team environment. You will coach staff, manage staffing, and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards and a focus on customer service.

Qualified candidates have 2–3 years of retail experience, at least 1 year in a leadership role, and strong communication, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas and customer service experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly within the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions and teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization focused on safe operations.
• Mentor team members across hourly positions and leadership roles.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career development and succession planning.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions as needed; address terminations.
• Manage P&L, sales targets, and shrinkage for the department.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and Meijer standards.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Ensure thorough training and ongoing development for all staff.
• Maintain a safe, reliable work environment and attendance.
