Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise team members across store departments. You will mentor staff, implement strategies to improve customer service and drive sales while maintaining Meijer standards and safety.

The role involves staffing decisions, development planning, disciplinary actions, P&L awareness, and promoting a positive company image through exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decision making.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling and customer service excellence.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and development paths for team members.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed sales goals and maintain standards.
• Ensure the team is fully trained and trained on required procedures.
• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees and customers.
• Promote a clean, organized store appearance during prime shopping hours.
