Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a store leader to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations across departments, mentoring staff and driving customer service excellence.

You will manage staffing, hiring, training, and development to meet sales goals while upholding company standards, ensuring a safe, well-presented store and responsive service during peak hours. This role emphasizes coaching, succession planning, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• P&L responsibility, achieving sales and reducing shrink.
• Mentor and coach team to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Ensure team is trained on required training.
• Leadership experience with hourly and SDIT team members.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs for the team, and be involved in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor team members to exceed sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure the team is trained in all aspects of their jobs and completed required training.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Reliability and consistent attendance required.
