Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership role to oversee daily operations, staff staffing and development, and customer service excellence in a busy retail environment. You will mentor team members, manage scheduling, training, and performance while upholding company standards and store presentation.

The position emphasizes planning, staffing, and implementing strategies to meet sales and service targets, with a focus on safety and consistent attendance across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments across store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli.
• Ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members at all levels.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career paths and development; participate in promotion decisions.
• Document disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Manage P&L, drive sales and control shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and conversations.
• Ensure staff are trained and have completed required training.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and team members.
