Job summary

Meijer is hiring for a store leadership role focused on directing daily operations and mentoring team members to deliver exceptional customer service. The role oversees staffing, development, and disciplined execution of store standards.

You will drive sales while maintaining profitability, manage staffing plans, and promote safety and Meijer policies. A minimum of 1 year in management with retail experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) or customer service and product flow experience.
• Strong communication to team members with clear direction.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information.
• Experience in suggestive selling and leading safety-minded teams.
• Mentor team members and ensure training is completed.
• Reliable, consistent attendance and willingness to perform other duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve service and sales.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote career paths and development; support promotions decisions.
• Handle disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Oversee P&L, sales goals, and shrink targets.
• Deliver exceptional, fast, friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings.
• Ensure training completion and uphold Meijer standards.
• Maintain store appearance during prime hours and ensure safety.
