Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across multiple departments. You will mentor staff, manage staffing, and drive customer service initiatives to meet sales goals.

Responsibilities include staffing decisions, training, and implementing the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings, while ensuring safety, attendance, and compliance with company standards. Experience in retail leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve customer service and sales.
• Manage staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Ensure a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Provide exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
