Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional in Michigan to plan, direct and coach a diverse team across departments. The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, managing staffing needs, and driving sales while maintaining Meijer standards.

Qualified candidates will have 2–3 years of retail experience with at least 1 year in a supervisory role, strong communication, and the ability to mentor staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in different store areas.
• Strong communication delivers clear directions.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
• Experience analyzing financial and statistical data to inform decisions.
• Experience mentoring team members and SDITs/hourly staff.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Support promotions and ensure profitability while controlling shrink.
• Ensure safety and provide a positive Meijer image in all interactions.
• Train team members across roles and complete required certifications.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and coaching sessions.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to Meijer standards.
• Foster a proactive, respectful work environment with reliable attendance.
