Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to uphold a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate a cash register, stock and rotate merchandise, and maintain store cleanliness, while acting as a lead in the absence of the Store Manager.

You will perform duties typically done by the Store Manager in their absence and help maximize profitability while protecting company assets.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer service and greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise and set up displays per planograms.
• Clean the store and manage housekeeping tasks.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties in absence of Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager.
