Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock merchandise, and help the Store Manager as needed.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing transactions, stocking and rotating merchandise, and maintaining store cleanliness. The role may involve leading in the absence of the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and give change.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays according to planograms.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockrooms.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under the Store Manager’s direction.
• Perform duties of Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
