Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-focused store and lead by example in the absence of store management. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock merchandise, and help set up displays while protecting company assets and supporting store profitability.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store under direction, ensuring planograms are followed, and delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math including percentages and totals.
• Ability to operate cash register and handle cash accurately.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Ability to drive to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise; build merchandise displays.
• Clean the store; take out trash; dust and mop floors; stockroom/restroom upkeep.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
