Qualifications

• Product Knowledge – Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise.
• Experience – 1–2 years of retail or relevant work experience required; 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Communication Skills – Strong interpersonal and communication skills; read, write and interpret instructional documents and communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
• Mathematical Skills – Basic math functions, use a calculator, calculate percentages and ratios, make change in American monetary units.
• Reasoning Ability – Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers, remain flexible, work as part of a team, take initiative, and defuse escalated exchanges to create win-win situations.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers and provide premier service.
• Cross-sell products and upsell based on customer needs; know store layout and current promotions.
• Maintain store appearance and ensure merchandise is properly ticketed and stocked.
• Operate POS system to process transactions, discounts, gift cards, and cash handling.
• Provide leadership, coaching and feedback to sales associates; support Department Manager on performance.
• May open and close locations; supervise and direct work assignments as needed.
• Participate in inventory processes and ensure security of cash and merchandise.
