Job summary

Dollar General is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandise presentation, deposits, and deposits; perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

You will support Store Manager with scheduling, training, and ensuring policy compliance while maintaining high standards of customer service and store security.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least one year of retail experience and six months of supervisory experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register and scanner.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays, and planograms.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns, and deposits.
• Support cash control, refunds, overrides, and bank deposits.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
