Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store and supervise staff under the direction of the Store Manager. You will handle cashiering, merchandising, deposits, and paperwork to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise using receiving, stocking, rotating displays, and planograms as directed.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns, scoring and paperwork.
• Assist with store financial integrity; cashier accountability, refunds, overrides, and deposits.
• Support store operations in Store Manager's absence.
