Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store and supervise staff. This role supports the Store Manager with scheduling, training, merchandising, and deposit handling to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

The position emphasizes cash handling, planogram compliance, inventory control, and secure store operations, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and operate cash registers.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise through stocking, restocking, and building displays per planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Assist with cashier accountability, cash handling, deposits, and refunds.
