Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, complete paperwork, and help prepare deposits.

You will also perform stocking and cashiering, and other duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets. This is a full-time role requiring leadership and strong cash-control practices.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to various situations.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to read diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform arithmetic and manage percentages.
• Experience with cash registers and generating reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and deposits.
• Ability to drive to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate a cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise reception, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure planograms and product presentation per guidelines.
• Maintain cash accountability, deposits, refunds and overrides.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
