Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, customer-first store with effective supervision of staff and smooth operations. You will assist with scheduling, training, deposits, and merchandise presentation while protecting assets and maximizing profitability.

The role involves cashiering, stocking, inventory control, and supporting the Store Manager in their absence to ensure excellent customer service and store performance.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to varying situations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret store procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash register transactions.
• Knowledge of cash handling policies and cash-control procedures.
• Ability to travel to bank deposits as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers and operate the register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling, training and safety meetings.
• Assist with merchandise receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory and protect assets and losses.
• Support planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and deposits are handled properly.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
