Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, organized store focused on customer service. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise, and assist with deposits and cash controls.

The role includes scheduling, employee training, safety briefings, and inventory management to maximize profitability and minimize losses. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and reliability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and cash handling skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training, and conduct safety meetings.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy and prevent losses.
• Support planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Assist with store financials: cashier accountability, deposits, and cash controls.
• Support Store Manager in the manager's absence.
