Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations with a customer-first focus. You will supervise staff, manage merchandising, deposits, and paperwork under the Store Manager, and help control losses while protecting assets.

You will also lead with strong communication, scheduling, training, and safety coordination to ensure high profitability and excellent customer experiences. This is a full-time on-site role in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• One year of retail experience preferred.
• Six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet customers, operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with staff scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise flow including receiving, stocking, and displays; follow planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory, limit damages, and process paperwork and deposits.
• Support cashier accountability and cash control procedures; assist with refunds and tills.
• Assist with store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
