Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager, you will supervise staff, manage merchandise presentation, and ensure deposits are prepared.

This role requires strong communication, accuracy with cash handling, and the ability to train employees, open and close the store, and support loss prevention while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Experience in retail with supervisory exposure preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Follow processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, stocking, and displaying.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels and deposits.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control; sign refunds/overrides and bank deposits.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
