Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will assist with supervision of employees, merchandising, paperwork, and deposits.

You will also perform stocking and cashiering duties, help manage inventory, planograms, and protect assets while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and staff training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings for employees.
• Manage merchandise flows: receiving, stocking, restocking, and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages and markdowns.
• Assist with planograms and ensure proper merchandising presentation.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash control procedures; deposits made to bank.
• Assist in store leadership in the Store Manager's absence.
