MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic Assistant General Manager for the Shawnee Store—Mission team. Support operations, budgets, and safety while upholding our mission, values, and commitment to serving donors and shoppers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
• One year of Management experience + Previous Goodwill Retail/Warehouse Experience Preferred.
• Valid MO or IL state driver’s license and insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
• Leadership skills include quality decision-making, goal-setting, and problem-solving, with the ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable.
• Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Assists Store Manager in overseeing store operations, resources, and budgets to meet goals.
• Model core values and uphold safety, ethics, and quality within the store.
• Supervise, direct, and train staff and ensure they perform their primary functions.
• Provide superior customer service to ensure retention and de-escalate dissatisfaction quickly.
• Coach and counsel employees on performance, including discipline up to termination.
• Assign daily duties to achieve operational tasks.
• Identify and recommend employees for advancement.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct.
