MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is hiring an energetic Assistant General Manager for the OFallon MO Store - Hwy K. This role supports store operations, leadership, and customer service to advance the mission of Changing Lives Through the Power of Work.

The position offers hourly full-time work with 25% travel, an hourly rate of $22.50, and a monthly bonus potential up to $500. Benefits include immediate medical, dental, and vision, plus retirement plans and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
• One year of Management experience; Previous Goodwill Retail/Warehouse Experience preferred.
• Valid MO or IL state driver’s license and insurance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including customer service, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
• Leadership skills include quality decision-making, goal-setting, and problem-solving, with the ability to motivate and lead employees and hold them accountable.
• Comfortable with workplace technology like registers, scheduling, and inventory management software.

Responsibilities

• Assists Store Manager in overseeing store operations, resources, and budgets to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
• Model core values to uphold a culture with safety, ethics, and quality in the store.
• Supervise, direct, and train assigned staff and ensure they perform their primary functions.
• Provide superior internal and external customer service to ensure donor, shopper, and staff retention and de-escalate dissatisfaction.
• Coach and counsel employees about performance, including discipline up to termination.
• Exercise independent judgment in assigning daily job duties to achieve tasks.
• Help identify and recommend employees for advancement.
• Safeguard company property and report theft or misconduct to management or HR.
• Read, follow, model, and enforce all agency policies and values.
• Utilize staffing methods to ensure proper coverage and payroll edits/approvals.
• Eliminate wasteful practices through process improvement.
• Maintain professional appearance per dress code.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Monthly Bonus up to $500.
