Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking an Operations Manager to drive store performance and leadership development. You will oversee daily store execution, ensuring service, safety, and sales standards are met while coaching frontline leaders.

You will manage inventory flow, labor planning, and merchandising, partnering with directors and assistants to translate strategy into action. This role supports growth into broader leadership responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience.
• Proven ability to lead departments up to 40 team members and hit sales targets.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop people.
• Ability to interpret operational and financial data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Experience with inventory, order processing, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Sound judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications including Firearms Sales and Power Industrial Truck.
• Capable of handling firearm sales compliance (ATF Form 4473, background checks, approvals).
