Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors seeks an Operations Manager to drive store operations, lead a multi‑department team, and deliver exceptional customer service. You will plan staffing, oversee inventory, and coach team members to exceed sales targets while ensuring safety and compliance.

You will collaborate with Store Directors and Managers to translate strategy into action on the sales floor and across operations, strengthening leadership capability and operational excellence in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience required.
• Experience leading departments of up to 40 team members while driving operational excellence and sales targets.
• Strong leadership, coaching and development skills.
• Ability to interpret operational and financial data and communicate effectively.
• Experience with inventory, payroll, and Microsoft Office systems.
• Ability to manage firearms-related processes and compliance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for store operational execution and excellence.
• Lead store Operations team members, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Deliver daily operational direction and scheduling for teams across departments.
• Develop and execute strategies to meet weekly/monthly goals including staffing and payroll.
• Drive workforce productivity and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with sales, safety, and security standards and company policies.
