Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking an Operations Manager to lead store operations, develop leadership capabilities, and ensure exceptional customer service. You will work with Store Directors and Managers to translate strategy into action, manage inventories, payroll, and scheduling, and drive sales targets while maintaining safety and compliance.

This role offers growth within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience.
Experience leading departments up to 40 team members, driving operational excellence and sales performance.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for store operations and oversee daily execution across departments.
Direct and mentor Team Leads, Cashiers, Custodians, Asset Protection, Loss Prevention, Inventory Control and Seasonal staff.
Develop and implement strategies to hit weekly/monthly operational goals including staffing and payroll management.
Improve workforce productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with sales, safety and security standards per company policies and regulatory requirements.
Oversee Playbook execution and participate in store walks with senior leadership.
Audit firearm sales for compliance and complete required certifications.
