Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead the store's day-to-day logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations with a focus on inventory flow, accuracy, safety, and execution excellence.

You will partner with the Store Director and a network of leaders to drive performance, coach Team Leads, and translate corporate strategy into in-store results while ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements, including firearms sales obligations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant leadership or management experience.
• Demonstrated success leading departments of up to 40 team members while driving operational excellence and achieving sales targets.
• Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people.
• Solid business acumen with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with inventory systems, order processing, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Sound judgment and decision‑making skills in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to complete and maintain required certifications, including Firearms Sales and Power Industrial Truck.
• Ability to audit firearm sales and comply with ATF requirements.
• A team‑first attitude; you’re happy to step in wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational rhythm of the store, overseeing logistics, merchandising, and receiving operations.
• Balance workforce planning, scheduling, training, and payroll while maintaining standards.
• Analyze performance and implement solutions to boost productivity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Store Director and leaders to align priorities with business goals.
• Coach and support Team Leads and Team Members across Logistics, Merchandising, and Receiving.
• Support weekend/evening holiday scheduling; adapt to fast-paced retail changes.
