Job summary

Academy Sports + Outdoors is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a dynamic store team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while maintaining safety and operational standards. You will coach staff, plan store priorities with leadership, and oversee inventory, labor, and merchandising execution to drive results.

You will partner with store leaders to translate strategy into action, develop people, and ensure compliance with firearms regulations and corporate policies in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience.
• Led departments with up to 40 team members driving ops excellence and sales.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities to develop people.
• Solid business acumen with ability to interpret operations and financial data.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with inventory systems, order processing, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Good judgment and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Must complete and maintain required certifications including Firearms Sales and Power Industrial Truck.
• Ability to ensure firearms sales comply with ATF form 4473 and background checks.
• Team-first attitude and willingness to step in where needed.
