Job summary

Family Dollar in Boswell, Pennsylvania is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, greet customers, organize merchandise, and help supervise staff.

This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and problem solving, plus the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced retail environment. Part-time with opportunities for growth and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines; ensure all associates follow policies.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
