Job summary

Family Dollar in Harrisburg, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to assist with day-to-day store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help supervise store activities, ensure merchandise is well presented, and support the Store Manager in training and guiding associates.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), prior retail management experience is preferred, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs.

• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store is preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked bathrooms, and neat presentation; take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
