Job summary

Meijer is seeking an experienced store supervisor to lead daily operations in our Michigan stores. You will oversee staffing, coaching, and performance, ensuring exceptional customer service and sales while maintaining company standards.

You will mentor team members through development plans, manage scheduling and training, and drive safe, efficient store operations with a focus on Shrink and P&L performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service flow experience are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and provide direction to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members; participate in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals and maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure the team is thoroughly trained and has completed required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
