Job summary

Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay is seeking a Retail Store Manager in Training (MIT) to complete a comprehensive training program and prepare for a Store Manager role. You will rotate through key roles, learn policy and operations, and ultimately lead a retail store with responsibility for performance and customer service.

The program emphasizes leadership development, operations planning, and collaboration with district leadership to drive donations and sales while upholding Goodwill standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ work experience in Retail Management, preferably thrift.
• One-year customer service experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop store teams including Assistant Store Manager, Production Team and Donation Attendants.
• Manage store operations, payroll costs, inventory, and donations to meet goals.
• Ensure excellent customer service and a clean, well‑maintained store reflecting the Goodwill brand.
• Collaborate with district leadership to execute strategic plans and optimize area performance.
• Maintain regular in‑person attendance and act as a Goodwill ambassador in the community.
