Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview and counsel employees while complying with laws and policies.
• Strong cash handling and deposit control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is adequately staffed and opened/closed consistently; opens at least two times and closes at least two times per week.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, turn), and opportunities for expense control and shrink reduction.
• Orders to meet or exceed in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory management weekly; follows up on BSR/cycle counts.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following Company processes.
• Ensures merchandise is presented according to practices with proper pricing and signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels and controls damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Maintains cash register accountability and security practices; protects assets.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, organized, and safe for employees and customers.
• Ensures tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Follows Company policies and completes paperwork and documentation on time.
