Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager in Mississippi to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, merchandising, and customer service leadership. You will drive daily execution of processes, uphold safety standards, and ensure strong financial and inventory controls.

You will recruit, coach, and evaluate team members, manage cash handling procedures, and monitor performance against sales goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating instructions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise staff and enforce company policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides training, conducts performance evaluations, and counsels or terminates as needed.
• Sets pay/advancement recommendations and monitors performance.
• Leads safety, security, and policy adherence through regular communication and meetings.
• Ensures opening/closing routines and proper staffing each day.
• Reviews sales, profitability, and stock to identify opportunities and risks.
• Oversees stock replenishment, ordering plans, and inventory accuracy.
