Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced store leadership professional in Mississippi to manage a dynamic retail team and oversee daily store operations. You will drive staffing, training, merchandising, inventory control, and safety programs while ensuring exceptional customer service and store conditions.

You will monitor sales, curb shrink, and profitability while coaching staff, enforcing policies, and maintaining financial integrity through strict cash controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select, and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure store is staffed.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps, counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Ensure store staffing and opening/closing; open/close at least two times per week.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability, trends, and shrink.
• Manage ordering to meet in-stock targets; review weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per company processes.
• Maintain merchandising presentation, pricing and signage as established.
• Maintain inventory accuracy; control damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and cash controls.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe and well-organized.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available to perform tasks.
• Follow SOPs, handbook and company communications; ensure compliance.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
