Job summary

Rack Room Shoes in Lexington, KY, is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations and staff leadership. You will help drive sales, service quality, and adherence to company policies, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and efficient store environment.

You will lead training, handle customer issues with urgency, oversee merchandising, POS procedures, inventory, scheduling, and loss prevention to meet store goals.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in managing all day-to-day store operations.
• Create, establish and maintain an excellent customer shopping experience and service standards.
• Handle all POS terminal transactions per policy: Sales, Discounts, Refunds, Loyalty, opening/closing procedures.
• Oversee inventory control: shipping/receiving, price changes, markdowns, stock integrity and audits.
• Direct merchandising and visual presentation to meet company standards and promotional activities.
• Assist with payroll controls: scheduling, payroll budgeting, time and attendance.
• Train and develop direct reports, enforcing training tools and standards.
• Support loss prevention efforts to protect company assets.
• Develop a thorough understanding of daily operations and store performance.
