Job summary

Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries is seeking a Retail Assistant Store Manager for the Loveland, OH area. The role involves coordinating with the Retail Store Manager to oversee daily operations, customer service, stocking, merchandising, inventory control, budgeting and records.

A strong emphasis on leadership, safety, and efficient process management is required. The position requires managing staff, facilitating training, and ensuring smooth donation and sales workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of retail progressive management experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail or equivalent industry.
• Experience selecting, assessing, coaching, and developing associates.
• Proficiency in setting and managing schedules for store staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Broad knowledge of the thrift and resale industry and ability to react to competitive situations.
• Highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity, respect for all individuals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of the retail store in partnership with the Retail Store Manager.
• Perform daily admin tasks: cash transactions, ordering, opening/closing.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Assist in supervising and training employees.
• Greet donors, unload donations, sort items, handle cash, and maintain the sales floor.
• Create an atmosphere of exceptional customer service.
• Ensure donation processes and security controls are followed.
• Maintain payroll expenses and staffing to budget.
• Maintain neat store and proper equipment.
• Communicate with other divisions and stores as needed.
• Collaborate with employment and training programs to further the mission.
• Handle customer complaints and ensure a safe environment.
• Complete paperwork and reports timely; adhere to supervisor schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.
