Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position in a limited timeframe.

You will participate in recruiting, merchandising, and inventory controls while maintaining a safe, clean environment and delivering superior customer service. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents including diagrams and safety rules.
• Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with store security and loss prevention policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Facilitate store merchandising and proper pricing/signage.
• Support inventory management, scanning, and paperwork.
• Help meet in-stock targets through effective ordering.
• Provide strong customer service leadership and be a store role model.
• Participate in opening and closing procedures and cash handling compliance.
• Monitor store operating statements and identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all required paperwork and documentation on time.
