Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in daily operations, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. This role is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager position and is limited in duration.

The candidate will assist in recruiting, merchandising, and inventory control while ensuring compliance with company procedures. Occasional travel and adherence to safety policies are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Ability to learn and perform IBM cash register functions and generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing of merchandise as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and model company procedures.
