Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in supervising employees, staffing, inventory, merchandising, and various store operations. This role focuses on developing external candidates for future Store Manager positions and is temporary in nature.

The candidate will participate in recruiting, inventory management, and customer service leadership while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in a leadership or managerial position.
• Two or more years of experience in a retail grocery store preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating staging, stocking and storage of merchandise and ensuring proper pricing and signage.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare/ conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies as outlined in the employee handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds and maintain cash controls.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate the store in the absence of the store manager.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
