Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, drive sales, and maintain profitability. You will assist with staff management, training, compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service across shifts.

You will work under the Store Manager to lead a team, uphold company standards, and foster a welcoming environment for customers and employees.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum two years of management/supervisory experience in a retail setting preferred.
• Must complete Goodwill training within the required period upon employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain first aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Support store operations to achieve net income goals under Store Manager guidance.
• Assist in managing labor costs by aligning staffing with sales fluctuations.
• Ensure proper handling of donations and maximize production flow.
• Complete cash handling, safety, payroll, supply orders, and scheduling tasks on time.
• Promote world-class customer service to drive revenue and meet sales goals.
• Assist in leading store operations and multi-location coordination where applicable.
• Model leadership principles and act as a coach for team development.
• Assist with interviewing, hiring recommendations, onboarding, and recruitment support.
• Provide input into performance evaluations and support development plans.
• Document coaching and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure timely training completion and contribute to succession planning.
• Foster a positive workplace culture and enforce company policies.
• Lead by example to maintain brand standards and safe, welcoming environments.
• Participate in required meetings and company events; contribute to business outcomes.
• Demonstrate alignment with Goodwill Core Values: Serve, Mentor, Include, Lead, Excel.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to policies.
