Job summary

Old Navy is seeking an Assistant General Manager to collaborate with the General Manager on the store business plan and drive profitable sales through customer and product operations, merchandising, and talent development.

You will lead and coach Assistant Managers and Brand Associates to deliver a best-in-class customer experience, ensuring execution of the store strategy in the General Manager's absence and promoting Omni‑channel initiatives.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of retail management experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Strong communication with customers and team to meet goals.
• Leadership and mentoring to develop store staff.
• Driven by metrics to deliver results.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, weekends.
• Able to move around store, stockroom, and office; lift up to 30 pounds.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Build effective teams and drive a culture of high performance and engagement.
• Support execution of performance goals and developmental plans for store team.
• Support strategies using a customer-centric mindset to deliver results and drive store sales.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, develop and lead a team of managers and employees.
• Coach and provide feedback to build capabilities and accountability.
• Own assigned area of responsibility and implement action plans to maximize efficiency.
• Perform Service Leader duties and ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
• Represent the brand and understand the retail landscape to inform store strategies.
