Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead customer service, supervise staff, and support store operations in a fast-paced retail setting. You will help with scheduling, training, merchandising, and inventory control while protecting assets and maximizing profitability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling and training of employees and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise with stocking, unpacking and rotation.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control markdowns.
• Support planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cash handling integrity, refunds, overrides and deposits.
• Assist store manager in absence of the manager.
